Often I dream of being a part of a big movement (One Nation March [10/2/10] pictured) because what I often read, see and understand is that the way we are today- the structure that we have grown accustomed too- does not allow for the lives and well-being of everyone.
What can’t be forgotten in the pursuit of these larger movements is the time and the life that precedes its coming to fruition. The love individuals have for each other and the love a person has for the world we live in reflect our unique capacity for community and insight. At the end of the day being able to take joy in the sunset is an amazing thing.
It takes heart, mind and courage to find the beauty in all things. It takes love, respect and strength to recognize one’s own privilege- then initiative and self-respect to reject that privilege and uphold justice.
These are the principles I aspire to and the ideals with which I challenge you. Stand with me- not because you agree with every word I said, but because you were willing to listen and reason with me.
